How to Pack Your Car
for a Last Minute Last Summer Beach Trip  Â
Â
When summer begins to wind down and fall is in sight, you
might think a beach vacation won't happen until next summer. However, if you
get the invite to take a late summer beach trip-do it! Clear your schedule and
spend a day having some fun in the sun before summer ends. Here's how to pack
the car quickly with everything you'll need for your late summer beach trip.
Â
Â
- A mesh laundry basket makes an awesome beach bag. It's perfect for toys, shovels, and sand buckets because the sand will come right out the basket with a few shakes. However, the basket is perfect for packing up the car. Toss in the towels, bathing suits, and snacks for quick storage. Â Â
- For a short trip, try to fit everyone's clothes into one or two suitcases to save on space in the car. Better yet, try using a duffel bag that will fit better in your car. For last minute trips, less is more!  Â
- Be sure to put bathing suits, googles, sunscreen, and anything else you'll need for the beach on top of the suitcase so you won't have to fully unpack when you arrive-now you can just hit the beach!  ·
- Don't take the sand with you! Leave a soft paintbrush in the car for the end of a beach day. The paintbrush is perfect for getting sand off your feet so your car is mess free. Â Â
- Pack boogie board and rafts on top of suitcases so they don't get damaged during travel. Â
- Pack two swimsuits and that's it! You'll always have a dry bathing suit, but you won't waste space packing too many bathing suits. Be sure to throw in a few plastic bags so when you head home, you can toss a wet bathing suit in the bag and not into your suitcase. Â Â
- If you are leaving last minute, see what items you can rent rather than packing. Call you hotel first and see if they offer beach chair and umbrella rentals as well as give beach towels.
